As a Regulatory Operations Officer at SEB Life International, you’ll be part of a small inclusive team of professional and engaged colleagues, responsible for regulatory obligations such as Anti-Money Laundering and Counter Financing of Terrorism (AML/CFT), Financial Sanctions, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA), Common Reporting Standard (CRS) etc. You will also provide support and advice to the Company, particularly to the Operations Department (i.e., Customer Service teams). By collaborating with internal stakeholders, you’ll also have room to grow your skills further.
About the role:
  • Supporting the Group Financial Crime Prevention (FCP) Acceleration Program & local FCP activities
  • Ensure the company adheres to all relevant regulations, including GDPR. Stay updated on changes in regulatory requirements and communicate these to the business.
  • Review and interpret governance documents, policies, and standards to ensure they are up-to-date and accessible to relevant stakeholders. Translate complex regulatory and governance requirements into clear, actionable business practices. Provide guidance and support to business units to ensure compliance.
  • Perform activities related to Financial Crime Prevention
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures related to financial crime prevention.
  • Work closely with various business units to ensure understanding and implementation of regulatory requirements. Facilitate training and awareness programs on regulatory compliance.
  • Assist in the timely and accurate completion of our regulatory reporting obligations
  • Assist in the preparation of relevant metrics for regular group deliveries
  • Support in performance of Money Laundering and Sanctions risk assessments
  • Perform other ad hoc duties as assigned, which may include but not limited to assisting with regulatory audits and inspections, conducting ad hoc regulatory research and analysis. 
  • Preferred skills and experience:
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, law, or a related field
  • 3-5 years of experience in regulatory compliance within the financial services or insurance industry
  • A strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and the ability to translate regulatory requirements into business practices
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Capable of working independently and as part of a team, managing multiple tasks, and meeting deadlines
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Experience in training business units on regulatory compliance, and knowledge of the Irish regulatory environment
  • Understanding of GDPR and its implications for the business.
  • Understanding of Financial Crime Prevention regulations and guidelines.
  • Proficiency in MS Office
  • Fluent in English
