Leading logistics company DHL Group has set ambitious, science-based targets for 2030 on their way to a low carbon future. Some of their actions include transitioning to sustainable fuels to accelerate decarbonisation of air, ocean and road freight. DHL Group’s goal is to reduce all their logistics-related emissions by 2050.
To underline their ambition, DHL Group has linked their financing to its CO2 targets. SEB has been the sole advisor in the work to develop this sustainability-linked finance framework.
DHL Group has committed to reducing its direct CO2 equivalent emissions from the use of fuels and the indirect emissions from purchased energy in Scopes 1 and 2 (own operation) by 42% by the year 2030. By 2030, they aim to reduce Scope 3 (full value chain) CO2 equivalent emissions from fuel- and energy-related activities, upstream transport, sales, and business travel by 25%. DHL Group is transitioning to sustainable fuels which includes bio and synthetic fuels. To learn more about DHL Group’s efforts, please see DHL annual report.
