SEB in Estonia sets world record with coin mosaic

The world record was associated with SEB's annual summer festival in Rapla county in the western part of the country. The record attempt took place in the official presence of an authorised inspector from Guinness.

The event took place in addition to the usual summer competitions associated with the summer festival. The mosaic was created with 46,241 10-cent coins and the 7,516 5-cent coins. The weight of the whole creation was 219 kg.

By using coins in two colours, the SEB staff succeeded in creating a functioning QR code, a barcode that can be read by mobile phones and used particularly in marketing to lead the reader through to a website or application.
