The other two methods for electronic identification offered by SEB in Sweden both require special equipment to work.
“This is great! The best solution ever!” and “Fantastic!” were two posts from customers on SEB’s Swedish Facebook page right after the service launched on Wednesday.
“This is something customers have really asked for,” says Frida Garnefält, who works at SEB’s internet banking unit.
Currently customers can log in to the online bank using computers, but the ability to log in also via a smartphone or tablet application is coming soon.
SEB offered its Swedish employees to test the mobile identification service from April 10 and it got a very good reception.
