Two top awards for foreign exchange

SEB’s foreign exchange (FX) business has been named the top supplier in the Nordic region (for all currencies) by magazine Global Finance, and the best provider of Scandinavian currencies, globally, by FX Week.

The honours follow top rankings from Prospera and recognition from Bloomberg for FX analysis.

The Global Finance awards are judged by editors of the magazine with input from industry analysts, corporate executives and technology experts. Criteria for choosing the winners includes transaction volume, market share, scope of global coverage, customer service, competitive pricing and innovative technologies.

The FX Week award is based on a poll of clients.

Joachim Alpen, head of Trading & Capital Markets, which covers the FX area, says the unit has focused on developing its advisory teams over the past year, allocating resources to work even more intensely with core clients on matters such as risk and portfolio analysis. “As a relationship bank we know our clients’ businesses inside out and know what they need almost before they do,” he says.

“Working alongside our teams of experienced market professionals, our clients also enjoy access to some of the best analysts around. Having the biggest research team in the region focusing on FX gives us a unique selling point which is also reflected in our consecutively high rankings in research polls and awards.”
