SEB Tech Summer Internship offers a unique opportunity for those aiming for a career in IT. During ten weeks, you will work in a dynamic tech environment and get to know SEB as an employer.
About the programme
SEB is a large international company with thousands of employees worldwide. A significant number of them work in the Technology division, while many others hold technology-related roles in different parts of the bank. Together, they form an agile organisation with the common goal of creating products and services that simplify and improve the daily lives of both customers and employees.
Those who have completed at least two years of university or college studies, or equivalent, and aim for a career in IT can apply for the SEB Tech Summer Internship.
During your time with us, you will work closely with our experienced specialists, within any of these areas:
- Cyber Security
- Data & Analytics
- Product Lifecycle
- Development Solution & Infrastructure (DSI)
- Core Ledgers
Throughout the internship, you will spend the majority of your time in your home department and work in the specific role you have been recruited for. Additionally, you will have the opportunity to visit various parts of our tech organisation, network, and gain valuable experiences for your future career in IT. You will deepen your knowledge in your chosen area, gain insight into working in a complex, international organisation and learn about different technologies alongside your team.
Cyber Security
More than 2,200 cyberattacks occur each day. That means someone becomes a victim of a data breach, phishing attack, or other cybercrime every 39 seconds. SEB sits at the crossroad of finance and technology, making us prime targets in the security threat landscape. Group Security and Cyber Defence (GSCD) is responsible for SEB’s Cyber Security Strategy and takes a strategic and holistic approach to the needs today and in the future, ensuring SEB is a trusted and reliable financial institution.
Data & Analytics
We are responsible for the strategy, environments and best practices of data and analytics to help SEB fulfil its full potential. Included are our strategic move to cloud and the adoption of reusable data products that will help us become both efficient and optimal in our provisioning and utilisation of data as an asset. We promote and develop the data culture across SEB and include advanced analytics, visualisation and education programs to ethically upskill and embed the art of the possible.
Product Lifecycle
The Business Enablers area in SEB Technology consists of three departments: As A Service Components (for Authorizations and Signing), Customer Lifecycle, and Product Lifecycle. At Product Lifecycle, we support business processes relating to sales and agreements as well as pricing of and charging for services. Our solutions support most customer segments and many of the countries in which SEB is present.
Development Solution & Infrastructure (DSI)
DSI is responsible for developing and managing the IT infrastructure within SEB. Within DSI you find the Cross Area Function with several areas of expertise. One of these is the responsibility of coordinating and structure SEB’s Configuration & IT Asset management.
Core Ledgers
The Core Ledgers area is a part of Customer Offering in SEB Technology and consists of 13 teams divided into 4 departments. We support and maintain some of the bank's most important systems and call ourselves the heart of the bank. Our systems support private and corporate customers of all sizes in Sweden, as well as internationally. Apart from that, we are responsible for driving one of the top prioritised IT projects for SEB; New Cash ledger.
