SEB Private Equity sell all shares in TAWI Invest AB

SEB Private Equity have, through its Nordic fund SEB Private Equity Opportunity III, entered into an agreement for the sale of all shares in TAWI Invest AB to Piab Group AB. As part of the agreement, TAWI is to become part of Piab Group AB.

TAWI is a global leading provider of manual handling solutions, represented worldwide with 133 employees globally and presence across over 50 countries. SEB Private Equity acquired a majority stake in TAWI in late 2016. Since then, the company has executed well on the set value creation strategy, investing heavily in the organization and product innovation, strengthening the management team, acquiring key distributors in strategic markets and consistently grown revenues across markets.

“We invested in TAWI as we saw a solid market leading company in a niche market segment with potential to further accelerate growth fueled by an increasing demand for safe, ergonomic and efficient lifting. A market with an increased focus on people’s well-being and improved working conditions. Together with the company and the other shareholders, we have worked consistently to strengthen the organization and the platform. After almost doubling the company in size and profitability we believe that we have built a company that is ready for its next step and we are confident that Piab Group is the best long-term industrial owner”, says Magnus Ramström, Investment Director at SEB Private Equity.

Piab provides automation solutions for end users and machine producers in e-commerce logistics, food, pharma, automotive, and other manufacturing industries to improve energy-efficiency, productivity and working environments. Piab is a global organization, based out of Sweden, with around 500 employees. Since 2018, Piab is majority-owned by Patricia Industries, a part of Investor AB.
