At SEB, we create financial services that make a difference in people’s everyday lives – from savings and investments to payments and loans. We build digital experiences with high standards for quality, security and accessibility, and we believe in close collaboration between design, tech and business.

We are now looking for a Visual Designer who wants to set a new quality benchmark for our digital experiences. You combine strong visual craft with UX understanding – and you enjoy working closely with development to ensure every detail is right all the way to production.

Since SEB was founded in 1856, our focus on customers and long-term relationships has been at the heart of our success. We aim to drive positive change by providing capital to help everyone reach their goals and accelerate progress towards a sustainable tomorrow. As a leading financial services group in northern Europe, we'll help you grow and empower you to take on more responsibility to create a real difference. Welcome to SEB.

About the role

In this role, you will join one of our product teams to quickly get close to user and business needs as well as deliveries. After the initial period, the assignment broadens – you will then have a clear mandate to elevate the visual experience and interaction quality across the entire product area. Our vision is to raise the visual experience across our Savings and Investments offering, with an expression that takes the overall look and feel to the next level.

As a Visual Designer, you set the visual direction – from overall concept and composition to micro-details that make the experience feel premium in every aspect. You design interfaces, evolve components, and create a cohesive look & feel. The role combines visual design and interaction design, and you work closely with UX Designers and developers from idea to implementation.

In this role you will drive both strategic design concepts and hands-on production and ensure what we build delivers high visual quality in practice, not only in Figma. You will play a key role in translating the brand into visual choices in the interface – tone of voice, details and overall feel.

You will collaborate with other designers and teams to create consistent experience across the entire product area.

In addition, you will also:

  • Design screens and interfaces for our digital services
  • Visualise ideas and concepts in Figma
  • Create and further develop components and design systems that are built to scale and for everyday use
  • Ensure the experience feels unified and well-crafted across colour, typography and components
  • Design animations and micro-interactions
  • Collaborate with frontend on motion, feedback and haptics
  • Ensure a clear visual coherence and quality across the entire product area
  • Explore and develop new design patterns
  • Actively contribute to raising the product’s visual and interaction quality

The UX Designer is responsible for defining problems, structuring solutions and ensuring customer value through research, flows and concepts. The Visual Designer is responsible for shaping the visual experience and evolving the interface through visual design, components, motion and interactions. Together, the roles ensure the product both solves the right problems and offers strong, cohesive experience.

To succeed in this role, we believe you

You are a self-driven designer who is happy to take ownership of delegated design tasks, drive them from idea to delivery, and at the same time feel confident asking for guidance and feedback when needed. You care about quality – and about what we design actually working in practice, all the way from idea to an implemented interface.

In addition, you also have:

  • At least 5 years of experience in visual design or product design
  • Strong understanding of visual design principles
  • Experience in app design
  • Very strong proficiency in Figma
  • Experience working with design systems
  • Experience with animations and micro-interactions is required
  • Experience of product development in teams is required
  • Experience with financial products is a merit
  • Experience launching new products is a merit

What we offer

You will also be part of our design community of around 100 designers in different roles – a place for knowledge sharing, inspiration and developing design craft and ways of working. Here you will find colleagues to bounce ideas with, learn from and drive improvements together with.
