About the job

We are looking for an experienced Technology Team Manager to lead the GCP Core team, developing the bank’s primary and most mature cloud platform, running a significant and growing number of production workloads.

The GCP platform is established and widely adopted within the bank. The challenge ahead is less about greenfielding and more about evolving, driving the modularisation of the platform, enabling cross-departmental collaboration with other infrastructure teams, and together shaping the operational model and target architecture for the bank’s total cloud delivery.

In our agile setup, we lead through a collaborative “triangle” consisting of the Product Owner (PO), the Solution Architect (SA), and you, the Team Manager. We are looking for a leader who values impact over prestige, and human empowerment over micromanagement.

Your responsibilities

• Lead the GCP Core team - a senior group of platform engineers responsible for developing, operating and evolving the bank’s primary Google Cloud platform.

• Drive the modularisation of the platform and establish the collaboration model with adjacent infrastructure teams across the bank’s total cloud delivery.

• Contribute to defining and implementing the target state for the bank’s cloud operations architecture, governance and ways of working.

• Hold full accountability for operations, risk, compliance and delivery quality and own the people agenda within the leadership Triangle, including coaching, performance management and competence development.

• Act as the bridge to our IT strategy, navigating complex discussions between technical requirements, regulatory frameworks, and business speed.

Requirements & Skills

• Experienced cloud leader: You have at least 5–10 years of experience leading platform or infrastructure teams in cloud environments, with a clear track record of delivery ownership, preferably within a regulated business.

• GCP or multi-cloud competence: You have documented hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform and/or other major cloud platforms (Azure, AWS) at scale.

• Collaborative by nature: You build alignment across teams and organisational boundaries, and you know how to move things forward when progress requires as much negotiation as technical judgement.

• People-first: You take coaching, performance and team development seriously. The people agenda is something you genuinely own.
