SEB Kort Group is building Europe’s leading corporate payment platform – bringing together SEB Kort and AirPlus into one integrated technology organization. We are now looking for a manager for the Core Solution team, to lead a central part of this transformation: shaping our cardholder onboarding solution and the new operational Master Data Management platform for SEB Kort Group.

The Core Solution team is responsible for business-critical capabilities at the heart of our customer and data landscape. The team consists of experienced architects and developers, both within Mainframe COBOL and Java, based in Sweden, working with both stable core platforms and modern distributed technologies.

Are you an experienced team manager with a strong interest in technology, customer data and engineering excellence? Do you want to lead a skilled team that plays a key role in SEB Kort Group’s future technology landscape? If so, you’ll be interested in this opportunity!

What you will be doing

As manager of the Core Solution team, you will be an Engineering Team Manager accountable for the IT assets, people and engineering practices connected to our core customer and master data solutions. Your mission is to lead and develop a team of Mainframe COBOL developers and Java developers, ensuring operational stability, robust IT asset ownership and continued delivery of business-critical capabilities.

You will play an important role in combining stability and modernization: maintaining and developing existing core solutions while supporting the build-up of SEB Kort Group’s new operational Master Data Management platform. You will work closely with architects, product owners, agile teams and stakeholders across SEB Kort Group.

Your responsibility in summary

  • Lead a mixed line team of experienced COBOL and Java developers, as well as architects, testers and scrum masters

  • Be accountable for IT assets connected to customer master, Nordic onboarding and master data management capabilities

  • Ensure lifecycle management, risk management, compliance and operational stability for business-critical solutions

  • Lead, coach and develop engineers working with both core platforms and modern Java-based solutions

  • Drive modern engineering practices aligned with SEB ways of working

  • Support the development of SEB Kort Group’s new operational Master Data Management platform

  • Represent your IT assets within the relevant agile domain and contribute to the broader technology transformation of SEB Kort Group

To thrive in this role, we believe you have

  • Experience leading through change and ambiguity, with the ability to translate complexity into clarity

  • Strong ability to lead, coach and mentor engineers. Previous experience leading people, formally or informally, is required

  • Solid technical understanding combined with a business-oriented mindset

  • Experience from complex application landscapes, preferably including both legacy/core platforms and modern distributed technologies

  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to build trust across organizational boundaries

  • Understanding of IT asset ownership, lifecycle management, operational risk and regulatory expectations in a financial services environment

It would be beneficial if you also have experience from banking, cards or payments, as well as knowledge of Mainframe COBOL environments, Java-based development, APIs, event-driven architecture or Master Data Management.

What we offer

  • Opportunity to lead a highly skilled engineering team responsible for core capabilities at the heart of SEB Kort Group

  • A leadership role in a major technology and organizational transformation journey

  • The chance to combine stability and modernization by leading both established core platforms and new strategic solutions

  • Influence over engineering practices, IT asset ownership and the future operational Master Data Management platform

  • An open and supportive culture with a flat hierarchy and genuine willingness to share ideas and perspectives

  • Extensive training and learning opportunities

  • Remote working possibilities, flexible work schedule and modern office environments

  • Attractive employee benefits, including favorable mortgage rates for SEB employees
