SEB is more than just a bank with an IT function. We are a progressive tech company powered by innovation and fueled by collaboration. From COBOL to AI and everything in between, we offer you an impressive tech stack and several technology paths. Together we're innovating for a sustainable society and building the tech arena of the future, a welcoming space for everyone.

Finance, Risk, and Compliance are undergoing a major transformation—driven by business and regulatory changes as well as significant shifts in architectural design. We’re therefore looking for a Solution Architect with financial and risk know-how to design and implement large-scale data solutions within a highly regulated environment. You will be a vital part of our community driving the Finance, Risk and Compliance agenda in the bank.  Are you ready to take on a new challenge? If so, this opportunity is for you!

About the role:
As a Solution Architect in our team, you will take end-to-end responsibility for the architecture within a specific area of the tribe. Your work will involve a high degree of complexity, both from a technology and data perspective as well as from a people and process perspective. You’ll work closely with solution and data architects to:
  • Design target architecture and roadmaps to transform legacy solutions to modern cloud-based solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with BCBS 239, DORA, and related regulatory traceability requirements.
  • Enhance data analytics capabilities, moving beyond traditional reporting.
  • Produce architectural designs for initiatives, define solution intent, assess trade-offs, and create comprehensive solution architecture documentation, in line with the business objectives.
  • Oversee the implementation of solution architecture, work closely together with tech leads in system design and non-functional requirements.
  • Ensure proposed solutions are aligned to the domain architecture.
  • To thrive in this role, we believe you have:
  • Experience working with architecture including business architecture.
  • Solid knowledge of financial and risk management processes within financial institutions to design solutions that meet regulatory and business requirements.
  • Proficiency in using ArchiMate for modeling and documentation.
  • Competence in cloud environments, preferably with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Good understanding of Data Warehouse methodologies and architecture, including data modelling, ETL processes, and data integration techniques.
  • Experience in building Business Intelligence and data analytics capabilities.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Proven leadership skills to guide teams, build strong relationships, and foster collaboration.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills to convey complex ideas effectively to both business and IT professionals.
  • Fluency in English.
  • What we offer:
  • A key role in one of SEB’s most challenging IT/Tech area
  • Innovative working environment with highly motivated colleagues
  • Agile and modern ways of working
  • Hybrid work model, meaning remote work is possible up to 2 days/week
  • Attractive compensation and access to SEB staff banking with exclusive benefits
  • Do you want to be part of SEB? It is our fundamental belief that inclusion and diversity is crucial for our future success. We strive to have an inclusive, value-driven culture where employees feel valued, respected, and involved irrespective of who they are, what they believe or where they come from.

Since we select candidates continuously, feel free to send in your application today via the link in this ad, but no later than 1st of February. If you have questions about the position, please contact Rita Paškevičiūtė, Technology Head of Architecture and Domain Architect FRC to Corporate Functions, by email rita.paskeviciute@seb.se, but we will not process applications via email.

Please be aware that our final candidates undergo background checks, a process that includes for example identity control, verification of qualifications, credit checks, company engagements and criminal records checks. In some cases, we also apply random drug checks.

SEB Sweden has a redeployment responsibility, why this position might be covered by internal redeployment
