SEB is more than just a bank with an IT function. We are a progressive tech company powered by innovation and fueled by collaboration. From COBOL to AI and everything in between, we offer you an impressive tech stack and several technology paths. Together we're innovating for a sustainable society and building the tech arena of the future, a welcoming space for everyone.

Finance, Risk, and Compliance are undergoing a major transformation—driven by business and regulatory changes as well as significant shifts in architectural design. We are therefore looking for a Risk Data Modeller with experience in data modelling to develop an integrated data architecture that meets regulatory requirements and business needs. You will be a vital part of our community driving the Finance, Risk, and Compliance agenda in the bank.  Are you ready to take on a new challenge? If so, this opportunity is for you!

About the role:

As a Risk Data Modeller in our team, you will take responsibility for the data architecture within the risk area. Your work will involve a high degree of complexity, both from a business and data perspective as well as from a people and process perspective. You’ll work closely with business stakeholders and architects to:

  • Capture and interpret business and regulatory requirements driven by our major initiatives.
  • Develop an integrated data architecture for Risk that supports all risk types, ensuring data is consistent, integrated, traceable, and fit for regulatory and business use, while connecting to the domain‑wide data architecture.
  • Develop business information and logical data models that align with business needs and integrate with business and application architectures, supporting metadata capture, consistency, lineage, and traceability across the data landscape.
  • Support the definition of business terms, and ensure they are correctly represented, consistently used, and traceable across models, data flows, and solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with BCBS 239, Basel/CRR, IFRS, and other applicable regulatory requirements, and alignment with the domain architecture.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders from the risk organisation, data management professionals, and architects across Finance, Risk, and Compliance.
To thrive in this role, we believe you have:
  • Strong professional background in risk management within a banking or financial services (e.g., credit, market, counterparty, or liquidity risk).
  • Competence in developing ontologies, business information models, and logical data models (including normalised and dimensional models), as well as data definitions, data mapping specifications, and data flows.
  • Good understanding of data warehouse architectures and methodologies, and familiarity with the Data Mesh framework and data products.
  • Knowledge of regulatory and data management requirements in Finance and Risk areas, and how data architecture enables compliance and governance.
  • Experience with BCBS 239 (Risk Data Aggregation and Risk Reporting, RDARR) would be an advantage.
  • Strong problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with a positive, solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills to convey complex ideas effectively to both business and IT professionals.
  • Fluency in English.
What we offer:
  • A key role in one of SEB’s most challenging areas
  • Innovative working environment with highly motivated colleagues
  • Agile and modern ways of working
  • Hybrid work model, meaning remote work is possible up to 2 days/week
  • Attractive compensation and access to SEB staff banking with exclusive benefits
