We are seeking an experienced Privacy Legal Counsel to join the SEB Group Privacy Office in Stockholm. In this position, you will support a broad range of data protection and privacy related legal and operational matters for SEB AB. This is an excellent opportunity for a legal professional to work in a dynamic and evolving field and contribute to maintaining our organization's commitment to privacy and data protection, with the ability to influence and help shape structured and effective privacy practices within the organization.

As part of the Group Privacy Office, you will work closely with business stakeholders across SEB AB, providing clear, business oriented advice and ensuring that SEB maintains its strong commitment to privacy and data protection. The role includes both complex legal assessments and hands on operational work, requiring a combination of legal expertise, pragmatic judgement, and strong cooperation skills.

About the role
• Provide legal support and guidance on data protection and privacy matters across SEB AB.
• Support in strategic initiatives involving and/or relating to data protection and privacy issues.
• Assist with privacy related matters, including assessments and case handling of varying complexity.
• Conduct and support Data Protection Impact Assessments, and other privacy risk assessments.
• Use and support internal privacy tools for documentation, workflows, and reporting.
• Contribute to the design, development, and improvement of internal privacy processes, methods, and governance.
• Collaborate with cross functional teams to identify and manage privacy risks.
• Conduct training and awareness activities on data protection and privacy.
• Cooperate and align with other legal functions within SEB and engage external counsel when appropriate.

To thrive in this role, we believe you have
• You hold a Swedish LL.M. degree or equivalent European legal qualification.
• You have at least three years of experience working with data protection and privacy, either in house or at a law firm.
• You have solid knowledge of the GDPR and related privacy legislation.
• You possess excellent communication skills, verbally and in writing. Excellent skills in Swedish or English is a requirement.
• You combine strong analytical ability with a pragmatic and solution oriented approach.
• You demonstrate resilience and the ability to handle both complex and operational matters.
• You are comfortable working independently as well as collaboratively, and you show strong stakeholder and project management capabilities.
• You have a positive, engaged, and cooperative mindset and are willing to contribute to both high level and hands on tasks.
• Experience with privacy tooling, operational GDPR work, IT /security, financial sector, or e Privacy matters is considered a merit.
