We now have an exciting opening for a Lead Depositary Manager who takes the responsibility of SEB’s Depositary Services Function in Denmark. This role offers a unique opportunity to work in a highly specialized and strategically important area of the financial sector and to help shape the continued development of our services.
The role is responsible for leading the Depositary Services team, ensuring high‑quality delivery of regulatory controls, client services, and internal reporting. It acts as the primary escalation point in Denmark and supports global Depositary Services leadership in achieving strategic goals. The position oversees day‑to‑day operations, drives process improvements and transformation initiatives, and contributes to sales efforts through client engagement. Strong stakeholder management — both internal and external — is essential, as is proactive risk identification and close collaboration with risk functions.
The role also includes team management responsibilities, fostering a culture of psychological safety, empowerment, transparency, and alignment with SEB values, while ensuring the team is well‑supported, informed, and continuously developing.
- Ensure the Depositary deliveries are completed on time and to a high standard of excellence.
- Lead the Depositary Services team and ensure high‑quality daily operations.
- Maintain a strong regulatory and control framework to ensure compliance.
- Serve as the main escalation point for Depositary‑related matters in Denmark.
- Oversee internal and external reporting, regulatory reviews, and committee activities.
- Drive process improvements, efficiency gains, and transformation initiatives.
- Support sales efforts through client meetings.
- Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, auditors, and authorities.
- Identify and manage risks in close collaboration with risk functions.
- Develop, support, and coach team members while fostering a positive and transparent team culture.
- You will ensure close collaboration with our colleagues in Nordics and Baltics.
The ideal candidate has strong knowledge of the Danish and European regulatory framework for investment funds and a solid understanding of the Depositary’s role. You bring broad financial services experience, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to identifying and managing risks. As a Team leader, you create a supportive team environment, delegate effectively, and handle a high workload with ownership and accountability. You are business‑minded and comfortable driving change. Above all, you demonstrate responsibility, integrity, and alignment with SEB’s values.
Key Qualifications and Requirements:
- Master’s degree in economics, finance, business management or law.
- Experience from the post trade and fund industry would be an advantage.
- Knowledge of financial markets and financial instruments.
- Knowledge of alternative Investments
- Knowledge of financial regulation UCITS V, AIFMD etc.
- Excellent communication skills (verbal and written)
- Fluent in Danish and English.
- Experienced user of Excel, Sharepoint.
