We are looking for a Business Controller with a sharp focus on cost management, to support the Life Business Area within SEB. This role is ideal for someone who combines strong analytical skills with a people-oriented mindset. You will be trusted to manage your own responsibilities, contribute to new ways of working, and help develop the team’s analytical capabilities - all while maintaining and running efficient financial models.
 
About the role
This is a senior-level position within our Life Finance team, ideal for someone who takes pride in structuring both their own work and contributing to the team's efficiency. You will be a key player in driving cost transparency, supporting strategic initiatives, and mentoring junior colleagues. While this is not a managerial role, your experience and leadership will be essential in guiding others and elevating the team's performance.
 
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cost analysis and reporting across departments and projects.
- Monitor and follow up on financial performance in strategic initiatives.
- Develop and maintain financial models to support forecasting and budgeting.
- Structure your own and the team’s workflow to ensure clarity and efficiency.
- Mentor and support team members in financial analysis and reporting.
- Drive improvements in financial systems and reporting tools.
- Present actionable insights to senior management and contribute to strategic planning.
 
To thrive in this role, we believe you have
- Proven experience as a Business Controller or similar role in a large organization.
- Strong background in cost tracking, financial planning and project follow-up.
- Tech-savvy with a keen interest in digital tools and financial systems (experience with EPM or BI tools is a plus).
- Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Structured and self-driven with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Natural ability to lead by example and support junior colleagues without formal managerial responsibility.
- Degree in Finance, Business Administration, or a related field with at least 7- 10 years’ experience within the area
