Since SEB was founded in 1856, our focus on customers and long-term relationships has been at the heart of our success. We aim to drive positive change by providing capital to help everyone reach their goals and accelerate progress towards a sustainable tomorrow.

Life & Pension in SEB is one of the largest pensions and insurance provider in Sweden and we serve both corporate and private customers. Our offering consists of products and services for important life events and by this we create certainty in an uncertain future. As a subsidiary in a large financial service group, we are able to benefit from a small company’s advantages that give you as an employee the possibility to influence and at the same time get access to a large company’s possibilities to develop and grow. Our brilliant techies work hard to future proof SEB’s digital architecture and customer products because it genuinely makes a huge impact for our customers and colleagues. Does that sound like a fit for you?

About the role

As a .NET developer you will join a team of 5 developers in a modernization phase, developing a new access layer for our core insurance applications using .NET 10, GraphQL, Kafka, MongoDB, RabbitMQ, etc and modern engineering practices. You will collaborate with several other teams within Life & Pension and be an active part of the ongoing core system transformation program.

You will work in an environment with a strong focus on engineering quality, where simple and maintainable solutions are preferred over upfront complexity. The team evolves systems incrementally, values meaningful automated tests, and continuously improves ways of working. Conventional commits and automatic semantic versioning are part of the development workflow.

To thrive in this role, we believe you have

  • Hands-on experience in backend development with .NET 8+, C#, Kubernetes, GitHub Actions, and MongoDB.
  • Experience with event-driven architecture and GraphQL API design is highly valued.
  • Strong focus on software quality, with unit testing as a core part of your way of working.
  • A positive attitude towards TDD and BDD.
  • Degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related discipline, or comparable professional experience.
  • Great communication skills and fluency in English; Swedish skills are beneficial but not required.

People would describe you as someone who:

  • Builds trust and strong relationships through collaboration.
  • Thrives in a team environment and values collective success over individual wins.
  • Is curious, proactive, and eager to explore better technical solutions.
  • Takes ownership and sees things through, from idea to production.

What we offer

  • Opportunities to help transform an industry into the future.
  • Extensive training and learning opportunities.
  • Collaborative and inclusive culture.
  • A chance to directly impact the customer experience.
