Equity Research Analyst (Shipping)
The Equity Research team aims to deliver industry-leading insights through in-depth fundamental research and analysis of listed companies. We serve a global client base of institutional investors, including pension funds, asset managers, hedge funds, and family offices across Europe, North America, and Asia.
We are looking for a motivated and ambitious Shipping Equity Research Analyst to join our team in Oslo. This is an excellent opportunity for a candidate with 1–3 years of relevant experience who wants to develop deep sector expertise within one of Norway's most important industries.
What you will be doing
As a member of the Shipping Research team, you will contribute to the analysis of publicly listed shipping companies and support the development of investment ideas for clients and internal stakeholders.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Conducting fundamental company, industry, and market research.
- Building and maintaining financial models and valuation frameworks.
- Analyzing company reports, earnings releases, and corporate announcements.
- Monitoring freight markets, shipping cycles, and industry developments.
- Preparing research reports, presentations, and investment recommendations.
- Participating in meetings with company management teams, investors, and industry experts.
- Supporting client interactions and contributing to the team's external communication.
- Developing investment insights that help strengthen our market position.
Who we are looking for
We are seeking a candidate with:
- Has graduated with bachelor’s or master’s degree in finance, Economics, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of relevant experience in equity research, investment banking, shipping or a comparable analytical role.
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills.
- A solid understanding of financial statements, valuation methods, and capital markets.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English and a Scandinavian language.
- Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.
- A genuine interest in financial markets and the global shipping industry.
*This is not a graduate 2027 position, start date is as soon as possible.
