European Green Deal
The European Green Deal is a comprehensive policy framework by the European Commission that aims to make Europe the world's first climate neutral continent by 2050.
The policy initiative was introduced in 2019 and includes measures to reduce greenhouse gases, promote sustainable industries and protect biodiversity.
Some of the key figures of the European Green Deal include at least 55 per cent less net greenhouse gas emissions by 2030 compared to 1990 levels and at least 3 billion additional planted trees in the EU by 2030.
