Climate Change Adaption
Climate change adaptation is the process of adjusting to expected or actual impacts from climate change such as floods, heat waves or water scarcity.
Examples of adaptation measures include developing crops more resistant to droughts, and public alert systems for extreme weather events.
Adaptation is a key complement to climate change mitigation, where mitigation is about trying to reduce the causes of climate change.
But even with mitigation, climate change is already happening, meaning that adaptation will be crucial to handle the effects of climate change.
