What does Net Zero mean?

Anna Douglas, Senior Sustainability Advisor at SEB, walks us through what Net Zero means.

Net-Zero

According to the United Nations, net zero means reducing emissions as far as possible so that we get as close to zero as possible and then with those remaining emissions or residual emissions, removing them and storing them long term in carbon removals. This requires collaboration across the whole of society and we must reach this by 2050.

SEB is a proud member of the Net Zero Banking Alliance where we have committed to reducing to Net Zero by 2050. We do this sector by sector, industry by industry together with our clients.
