Equal opportunity

Changing the entreprenorm for a more equal society.

We are committed to advocating for financial equality for women, with a focus on fostering equal opportunities in entrepreneurship.

Only about 30 per cent of company owners in Sweden are women. This is partly due to norms and biases that prevent women from accessing networks and funding. At SEB, we want to change the entreprenorm. So that more women can pitch their ideas, lead, own, and shape the future.

Our actions towards equality

As a bank, we have a role to play in ensuring that women have equal opportunities to own, save, and influence society. Here are some of our initiatives.

Training provides insights into gender bias

How do you reduce gender inequality and at the same time increase customer satisfaction? In an internal training, SEB's employees are helped to understand how gender bias affects daily work.

Female club restarts and broadens business network

Since 2016, SEB has organised a business network for women in Sweden called Klubben (The Club). "Through Klubben, we create an arena where female entrepreneurs have the opportunity to exchange experiences and be inspired by each other," says Özge Özen Zink, responsible for SEB's entrepreneurial collaborations in Sweden.

Women making an impact

Investing in women's economic empowerment

The drive to help people in emerging and developing economies and to speed up social and economic progress led both Camilla Löwenhielm and Hanna Holmberg to work as managers of SEB’s microfinance and Impact Opportunity funds.
