Care Services is where the future meets competence and customer focus

Meet Cathrin Uebel. Here she reflects on her long SEB journey and how she leads Care Services with experience and empathy.

With nearly four decades of experience at SEB, Cathrin Uebel has built a unique experience across the bank, both in Sweden and internationally. Since joining SEB in 1988, she has had several roles across different divisions and is currently the Head of Risk Services, an area within Customer Service for SEB Pension & Insurance, with around 50 employees. In her role, she combines a strong customer focus with strategic development work, relationship management, quality assurance, and creating long-term value.

Our Care Services team makes a difference everyday 

Part of Cathrin Uebel’s responsibility is Care Services, a team of 20 nurses.

"Customers who hold a health insurance policy with SEB contact us when they have health-related matters. Our nurses carry out medical assessments, provide guidance, and help book appointments with one of our approximately 300 contracted healthcare providers across the country. This creates a sense of security in our customers’ everyday lives.

In addition to Care Services, Risk Services consists of three other teams that work with risk assessments, investigations, sickness-case claims handling, and invoice management."

Building trust and long-term relationships 

Cathrin highlights the vitality of building relationships within her department, with the insured and the customers.

"It is important that we create trust and that the customer is met with compassion. Furthermore, it is important that they feel that our nurses can provide them with knowledge and answers. Our nurses are licensed and have at least five years of experience. Medical insurance is an important product that employers can offer to their employees. It is a product that builds important relationships. I believe that this is an area with enormous potential and that it is a service that will continue to grow in value."

A long and meaningful career at SEB;

She describes her current role as both stimulating and challenging.

"I thrive when there are many things going on at once and when problem-solving is part of everyday life. No day is the same, and there are always new questions to tackle. SEB truly encourages continuous learning—the desire to constantly learn new things and develop. I’ve worked in several different divisions and departments, and there are always new opportunities for those who are curious. Getting to learn new things, networking with inspiring people, and growing together is the fantastic part of this job."
