Working with everything from analysis to strategic impact, Filippa Wingårdh is a Business Advisor within Data Analytics & CIO (DACIO) at SEB, an innovative division where collaboration and data-driven insights create real business value.
What does your role entail?
"I work as a Business Advisor to the Head of DACIO, collaborating closely with senior leadership on strategy, prioritisation, and execution."
DACIO is part of Business Retail Banking (BRB) and plays an important role in supporting the business through AI, data, and the generation of insights that lay the groundwork for strategic decisions. DACIO includes AI Analytics, the CIO Office, Customer Insight Analytics, Customer Insight & Experience and the Data Management Office.
"After earning my Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Lund University, I held roles in finance and business development. My current position was of particular interest to me as it offered me the opportunity to broaden my experience and work at the intersection of operations, management, and technology. My role is broad and responsibilities range from operational to more strategic and project-based work. An important aspect of the role is acting as an extension of the Head of DACIO, providing materials and perspectives to support decision-making, including reporting to the management team and the Board."
What is the most valuable lesson that you have learnt so far at SEB?
"Since I started working at SEB, I have learnt the importance of collaboration in a large company. When different competences come together and strive towards a common goal, we make better decisions and deliver stronger results. I have also gained a deeper understanding of how culture and leadership affect how we succeed together."
"Furthermore, I have also developed a strong understanding of the importance of combining a strategic perspective with operational insight. The ability to alternate between overview and attention to detail, as well as to act as a bridge between different parts of the organisation, has been a particularly valuable learning experience."
Why did you choose SEB as your employer?
"I had my eyes on SEB for quite a while. I had heard positive things about the company and when I saw a role that matched my competence it felt like the right step."
"Furthermore, the sense of belonging at SEB is clear. For me, belonging and collaboration is about having colleagues and managers you can turn to and knowing that you support each other whenever needed. I experience that SEB provides this sense of security through the way people work together and care for one another. It is an inclusive and kind culture that makes you feel welcome and appreciated, while also giving you the confidence to step forward and feel supported."
"I also find it rewarding to be involved in developing things that reach our customers. We reach a very large number of people, which makes it especially enjoyable to work for a large company. Many people are familiar with what we do, and even if we may not change the world on a grand scale, we can still influence small parts of society. It is precisely this opportunity to make a difference that feels truly motivating."
