As a Senior Insurance Advisor, Michael Afram helps businesses create long-term security and peace of mind for both owners and employees. He is passionate about business, relationship-building, and the opportunity to make a real difference for his clients.

What does your role entail?

– In my role, I focus on helping companies ensure that their employees have the right insurance coverage. My workdays are dynamic and filled with customer meetings, advisory work, and business development initiatives. This involves strategic discussions and close collaboration with colleagues, all with the goal of creating value and providing long-term security and peace of mind for our customers.

I have spent many years working within the banking industry. After studying Logistics and Economics at KTH, I started my career at SEB. I was drawn to the bank because of its strong foundation, built on stability and trust while also embracing innovation and development. What appealed to me most was the opportunity to work in an environment where experience is combined with strong teamwork, enabling me to make a real difference for our customers every day.

What’s the best part of your job?

– For me, it is the combination of business and meeting people. Every company is different, and it’s rewarding to understand their needs and then build solutions that help both owners and employees feel secure, focus on growth, and strengthen the company’s attractiveness as an employer. My goal is to create a sense of security so they can focus on everything else.

How has SEB helped you grow?

By giving me trust, encouraging me to take on challenges, and allowing me to learn from my mistakes. I’ve been with the bank for many years and have always felt there was room to take the next step, learn new areas, and develop my skills. SEB continuously invests in its employees.

When did you first feel that “this is the right place for me”?

– It happened early on, when I experienced how strongly teamwork is valued here. When we close large, complex deals, we often do so together in teams. That sense of community and shared drive immediately made me feel that I belonged here.

It is also rewarding to help people and receive feedback from our clients. When a business owner tells me that our collaboration has created real security for their employees and made them a more attractive employer, I truly feel that I am making a difference.
