As an Insurance Advisor at SEB’s Södermalm branch in Stockholm, Maja Arkeving sees the value of strong teamwork every day. For her, collaboration is the key to providing customers with the best possible solutions.
What do you do as an Insurance Advisor, and how did you get here?
“I joined the bank in 2019, starting in Customer Service before moving into a role as a Private Advisor. Today, I work as an Insurance Advisor.
My focus is on supporting both new and existing corporate customers, working closely with our Corporate Advisors.
One of my close friends, who was already working at an SEB branch, spoke very positively about the bank as an employer. She described SEB as a secure workplace with excellent opportunities for professional development. It sounded both interesting and like an exciting challenge.
Before that, I had never really considered a career in finance, but I decided to apply for the position. Today, I’m very glad I did.”
What has surprised you the most about working at a bank branch?
“The strong sense of collaboration and the incredible amount of expertise gathered in one place. We are a diverse group of colleagues with different backgrounds and experiences, which means there is always something to learn from one another.
At the branch, we help each other resolve customer matters, regardless of who has the specific expertise or experience in a particular area.
There is a great deal of teamwork behind every business opportunity and customer relationship. It is rarely the work of just one person. We frequently discuss customer cases, exchange ideas, and work together to find the best ways to support both our customers and each other.
There is a culture where everyone wants their colleagues to succeed.
Our goal is always to find the right solution for the customer, but we also support one another as colleagues. Because we meet and work together every day, a strong sense of community develops. In many ways, it feels like being part of a small family.”
Who is suited to the role of Insurance Advisor?
“Someone who is driven by business opportunities and enjoys meeting customers. Curiosity is also important, as it helps you ask the right questions and develop a genuine interest in understanding customers’ needs and providing them with the best possible solutions.”
