Diversify Finance programme
Are you interested in a career in investment banking but haven’t been able to get an internship yet? Are you interested in learning, skill building, and networking to make that happen?
SEB’s Diversify Finance Programme is for students who feel underrepresented or disconnected from the world of finance but have a passion for a career in the industry. It aims to provide an inclusive space for selected students to get to know SEB, learn about the industry, and receive coaching and mentorship to help get that first internship.
About the programme
Over the course of two days in early September each year, we host selected candidates at our office in central Stockholm for immersion into what investment banking means at SEB. There will be mentorship, learning sessions from the various business units making up our investment bank, an interview and CV coaching workshop, and breakfasts and lunches with chances to network. Each accepted student who participates in both days is also guaranteed an interview for our Investment Banking Internship Programme.
We take in applications for the programme in late spring each year, while the programme days take place in early September to align with our Investment Banking Internship recruitment period.
Are you a fit for the programme?
For this programme in particular, you should be a university student studying in Sweden without previous experience in investment banking. You should have a genuine interest in business and finance but with a background or experience that is underrepresented in the industry. This could mean you lack a network in Stockholm due to socioeconomic or geographic factors, feel intimidated by the industry due to lack of exposure, or feel underrepresented or alone in the industry based on background, education, or experience. If this does not apply to you, then we would encourage you to apply directly to our Investment Banking Internship Programme.

We are always interested in applications from driven individuals with a team-player attitude and a genuine interest in business and finance, in combination with sharp analytical skills. We want you to be dedicated, ambitious and willing to learn. You also need to demonstrate high integrity and strong communication skills. We do not expect you to have already mastered financial models, but you should be curious, dedicated, ambitious, and outspoken. You should also have sharp analytical skills and be a fast and willing learner.
