Guiding customers towards a sound and sustainable economy

Erika Nyborg

After living in Australia for several years, Erika Nyborg decided on moving back to her hometown Sundsvall, where she began working at SEB. Today, she has been with the bank for ten years and has had various roles within different divisions. For the past year, she has worked as a Corporate Advisor, where she gets to widen her knowledge within financing.

Tell us more about your role!

– I work as a Corporate Advisor at SEB’s office in Sundsvall, which is incredibly exciting! As a Corporate Advisor you need to be good at creating trust and building long-term relationships to create positive change. It’s essential to always have a holistic perspective in order to guide customers towards a sound and sustainable economy. I sometimes describe the role of an advisor as the bridge between the customer and the bank. You don’t need to have all the answers, but with the right attitude and with the help of other experts within the bank you can get far.

What is the best part of working as a Corporate Advisor?

– The role is very diverse and you learn a lot - no two days are ever the same! My client base consists of a variety of different companies and industries, including agriculture but also restaurants, building services or smaller real estate companies. All companies have different needs and challenges, and it’s very interesting to gain insight into this. But the best thing about my role is definitely the feeling of togetherness! In my team, we have different backgrounds and experiences, which creates a perfect synergy. We support each other and aren’t afraid to roll up our sleeves when needed. I would say that describes the entire Sundsvall office and is something that I strongly value. Seeing opportunities in collaboration makes us stronger!

Why SEB?

– There are many different paths to take within SEB if you want to grow and develop your career. A year ago, I had the opportunity to step into the bank office from my previous role as an Advisor within Life and Pension. I felt it was time to try something new, and my previous experiences within the bank were seen as a valuable asset. It has been very rewarding, and I have learned so much in just a year. In addition to this, I believe that SEB offers an incredibly good work-life balance, which I highly value.
