Your Tech Trainee position and your team
Would you like to be part of a team of highly skilled people working in a fast-paced environment? As a Trading DevOps specialist in the Equities Prime Front Arena team at SEB Group Technology, you will strengthen the support and development of the business and the platform.

Within SEB, Prime Front Arena is the strategic system when it comes to Commodities, Equities, Fixed Income and Securities Lending. This role is within the Equities Trading product area.

As a Trading DevOps specialist in the Equities Prime Front Arena team, you will:
       Work in a high-pace, dynamic and agile environment
       Be part of a dedicated group of people that interact with SEB’s Equites Trading desk and supporting departments on a daily basis. 

Your main responsibilities will include:
       Development, configuration, testing, and maintenance of new and existing functionality
       Providing end user support and having a very close collaboration with the trading desk(s)
       Troubleshooting together with other teams and with external vendors
       Contributing to an improved way of working and a continuous learning culture
       Occasional presence on the Trading floor

Simultaneously by working in the role you are being recruited to, you will participate in SEB's Tech Trainee Programme for six months. It will give you the opportunity to develop an extensive network within the bank, gain a deep understanding of the financial industry and our global tech organization, and be professionally and personally challenged.

As part of the programme, you can expect to: contribute to meaningful projects, work on tech tracks, gain communication and leadership skills, and participate in a hackathon and a business challenge.
 
Key traits to thrive in this role and programme
We’re looking for young talents who are curious, motivated, and ready to question the status quo.

To thrive in this role and in the Tech Trainee Programme, we believe you have:
       Graduated within the past two years, or will graduate before the programme starts on 1st September 2026 – from a relevant academic degree or a two-year vocational education in IT or tech 
       An interest in trading products, preferably Equities
       Strong problem-solving skills, and the ability to take ownership
       Great communication skills and to be able to work both in English and Swedish
       Some experience using Python as a programming language
       A strong willingness to learn, to get things done and to manage to work in a high-paced environment
We also believe you are:
       A team player, with a customer-focused attitude
       Independent, take initiative (contributing with ideas and suggested improvements) as well as can take on multiple tasks
 
It is meritorious if you have:
       Knowledge of trading applications, platforms & protocols
       Experience of the FIX protocol and/or Exchange connections.
       Knowledge in SQL & other programming languages.
       GitHub and Jira understanding.
       Worked in an IDE such as PyCharm or Visual Studio Code.
       Worked in an agile and continuous learning culture
 
Previous experience (part-time work, student projects, labs in IT/Tech etc.) and involvement during your studies are advantageous but what matters most is your potential and passion.

Our recruitment process

The recruitment process includes:
-          Psychometric tests
-          Interviews – digitally and/or on-site
-          A case exercise and presentation
-          SEB Day – an event to learn more about SEB and the programme, with insights from former trainees
