Your Tech Trainee position and your team
We’re looking for a Junior QA Engineer to join our team in Vilnius. You would become part of the Authorisations area, where we build and improve solutions that help corporate customers and internal users securely manage access, users, and permissions across SEB’s digital channels. The area is currently evolving toward more modern, centralized, and user-friendly authorisation solutions. In this role, you will help ensure the quality of these solutions, with a focus on automation, manual testing, and continuous improvement. You will work closely with developers, quality assurance specialists, and other stakeholders in an agile, self-organizing team, taking part in the full development lifecycle. This is a great opportunity to build your skills in both quality assurance and test automation while contributing to solutions that support the future of banking.
Simultaneously by working in the role you are being recruited to, you will participate in SEB's Tech Trainee Programme for six months. It will give you the opportunity to develop an extensive network within the bank, gain a deep understanding of the financial industry and our global tech organization, and be professionally and personally challenged. As part of the programme, you can expect to: contribute to meaningful projects, work on tech tracks, gain communication and leadership skills, and participate in a hackathon and a business challenge.
Learn and contribute to manual and automated testing, help create and maintain test cases, support test automation efforts, and collaborate with the team to improve quality throughout development.
In our area, we use the following tools and frameworks:
-
GUI automation – mainly Selenium with Java, with a planned transition to Playwright.
-
API automation – Rest Assured with Java.
-
API testing – Postman, Bruno, and ReadyAPI.
-
Database querying and testing – SQL Developer, as we use Oracle.
-
Test case management – Zephyr, with an ongoing migration to Xray.
-
Version control and CI/CD – Git and GitHub Actions.
-
Logs and messaging – Splunk, Kafka, and MQ.
-
AI tools – GitHub Copilot and Microsoft Copilot.
We’re looking for young talents who are curious, motivated, and ready to question the status quo.
-
Graduated within the past two years, or will graduate before the programme starts on 1st September 2026 – from a relevant academic degree or a two-year vocational education in IT or tech
-
Great communication skills and to be able to work in English
-
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and the ability to clearly describe and thoroughly investigate issues.
-
An interest and basic understanding in programing, software quality, testing, and automation, with a willingness to learn new tools and ways of working in a collaborative environment.
Previous experience (part-time work, own projects etc.) and involvement during your studies are advantageous but what matters most is your potential and passion.
In our recruitment, SEB behaviours are something we consider when choosing whom to hire. These behaviours include creating value, acting long-term, and building positive relationships.
