Jonas Söderberg, currently head of SEB’s Business & Retail Banking division, is appointed Chief of Staff on Group level. Sven Eggefalk, former CEO of Länsförsäkringar Bank, is appointed new head of Business & Retail Banking and member of SEB’s Group Executive Committee. The changes are effective as of 1 September, 2025.
“I want to thank Jonas Söderberg for his strong contribution to the Business & Retail Banking division. I am very pleased that Jonas steps into the position as Chief of Staff. It is a role that requires extensive banking experience and in-depth knowledge of all different areas of SEB’s business,” says SEB’s President and CEO Johan Torgeby, and continues:
“Furthermore, I am very happy to welcome Sven Eggefalk back to SEB. Sven has extensive experience in retail banking, including 15 years at SEB, with a proven track record as a skilled leader with a strong customer focus.”
Sven Eggefalk was, prior to his position as CEO of Länsförsäkringar Bank, CEO of Länsförsäkringar Östgöta and Wasa Kredit, both subsidiaries to Länsförsäkringar. Before that, he held several positions at SEB, including Head of Development and Sales within Retail Sweden.
Jonas Söderberg has been with SEB since 1999, and Head of Business & Retail Banking since 2021. Prior to his current role, he held the positions as Regional Manager and Head of Investor Relations among others.
The Chief of Staff position will include a portfolio of assignments that was previously under the umbrella of Mats Torstendahl, Deputy President and CEO, who was recently appointed country manager in the UK.
In his new position, Jonas Söderberg will transfer from SEB’s Group Executive Committee to SEB’s Senior Leadership Committee.
