Frequent client contact combined with high-quality advice is strengthening SEB’s position with large companies. More clients now see SEB as their main banking provider, alongside a record result in the 2026 Prospera survey.

The share of clients that consider SEB their main banking provider increased from 45 to 53 per cent. Among the largest companies, the share rose from 55 to 62 per cent , while it increased from 28 to 39 per cent for the other surveyed companies.

For Björn Nyman, Head of Corporate Banking Sweden, the results reflect a straightforward principle: meet clients frequently and make every interaction relevant.

“You need both high frequency and high quality. We need to be in front of the client, understand the company and its industry, and bring something relevant to the discussion”, Björn Nyman says.

The approach is reflected in the wider survey. The largest companies ranked SEB first overall, giving the bank its highest scores to date. Improvements were particularly strong in strategic advice, customised solutions, service-mindedness, and proactivity. The other companies in the survey, with annual turnover below EUR 1.5 billion, ranked SEB second.

Competition for all relationships remains intense

“We know that expectations are high and competition is fierce, and we remain committed to raising the bar, deepening our client relationships and continuously strengthening the value we bring to our clients,” says Albin Wihlborg, Head of Corporate Coverage Sweden.

He highlights SEB’s proactive approach and the bank’s ability to bring together the needed expertise to deliver on strategic dialogues. Wihlborg sees the Prospera results as an important acknowledgement of the value created for clients.

Prospera’s 2026 Corporate Banking Sweden survey covers 133 large companies. The largest companies in the survey have a turnover exceeding EUR 1.5 billion. The remaining companies covered have an annual turnover of EUR 750 million to 1.5 billion.
