All-time high as SEB is ranked best foreign exchange bank in Sweden

SEB receives its highest score ever and is ranked number one for the fourth consecutive year in Prospera’s customer survey Foreign Exchange Sweden.

In Foreign Exchange Sweden 2025, a total of 92 Swedish companies and financial institutions have rated the foreign exchange banks operating in Sweden on aspects such as customer service. technical solutions and pricing. The scale employed was 1–5.

SEB’s overall score for 2025 reached 4.44 – an increase from last year’s 4.33 and the bank’s strongest result ever, as well as a high-score in the survey as a whole. For the fourth year in a row, SEB thereby secured the top spot.

“Getting this type of recognition feels great. For several years, we have consistently worked based on a customer-centric strategy and collaborated across teams to provide our customers with first-class advisory and the best possible solutions. Our physical presence in New York and Asia also enables 24-hour coverage,” says Anna Andrén, Head of FX at SEB.

At the same time, 2025 was a year marked by significant financial turbulence. In this environment, SEB received a very strong rating of 4.58 for its ability to handle large transaction volumes.

“The market was plagued by uncertainty, which at times made it difficult to execute large FX transactions electronically. There was an increase in clients turning to our desk, and growth in the number of manual transactions. This does, in turn, show the clients’ high level of trust in us,” says Marcus Hallberg, Head of FX Sales Sweden at SEB.

Growing stronger also in major currencies

A closer examination of the Prospera results shows that SEB ranks highest in 11 out of 18 categories – including “Risk advisory,” “Client familiarity,” and “Research, macro & strategy.” The survey identifies nine full-service FX banks, and 67 percent of respondents list SEB as their primary FX bank.

"We have also seen improvements in a few categories, such as 'ideas majors' – which relates to market analysis and advisory services for major global currencies – where we’ve moved from third to first place. We now hold the top position in pricing for major currencies, as well. Through focused efforts, we’ve managed to strengthen our position beyond SEK and NOK," says Marcus Hallberg.

“I want to extend a great thank you to our clients for their continued trust and for keeping us on our toes every day”, Anna Andrén concludes.
