SEB strives to be a workplace where all employees feel a sense of belonging and can be themselves.
“At SEB, we believe that diverse teams are essential for driving innovation and growth. In addition, an inclusive and diverse workplace is vital to our long-term success and our ability to attract the best talent. Participating in Stockholm Pride is one way of showing our commitment to diversity,” says John Turesson, Co-head of Corporate & Investment Banking at SEB.
Cecilia Wolrath Ekenbäck, Head of Group Compliance at SEB will be one of the bank’s participants in the Stockholm Pride parade.
“Pride is an important opportunity to show what SEB stands for: everyone’s equal value and to be themselves at work and in life in general. At SEB, we value different perspectives and diversity of thought, and I will proudly walk in the Stockholm Pride parade with my colleagues,” she says.
SEB has long worked on inclusion and diversity matters, supported by the group-wide inclusion and diversity policy. The bank also has an internal network called Proud at SEB, which works to raise awareness of topics including LGBTQ+ issues and promote inclusion and diversity. Proud at SEB, founded in 2022 with more than 200 members, organises several seminars and internal events yearly and collaborates with other banks through the broader Proud in Finance network.
“It means a lot that SEB is once again an official partner of Stockholm Pride. Many of the rights we take for granted in Sweden and other SEB home markets are far from reality in other places. SEB’s commitment to inclusion and diversity is an important signal, both to our employees and the broader society in the countries where we operate,” says Oskar Berggren, Solution Developer within Group Technology at SEB and Chair of Proud at SEB.
As part of SEB’s official partnership, the bank will participate in the Stockholm Pride Parade on 2 August 2025. Proud at SEB also plans to co-host a seminar at Pride House in collaboration with other banks in the Proud in Finance network. Ahead of and during Stockholm Pride, SEB will also organise a range of internal events.
SEB employees in Lithuania took part in the Pride Parade in Vilnius on 7 June, and SEB employees in Latvia will participate in the Pride Parade in Riga on 28 June.
