“This is so much more than a diploma on wall,” says Johan Nyquist, Co-Head of Equities at SEB.
Nyquist says this ranking is especially important for private equity companies and other owners looking to list their companies. They all look at these rankings ahead of selecting banks for an IPO or other Equity Capital Markets (ECM) transactions.
The Prospera survey, performed by research firm Kantar Sifo, shows that SEB is ranked number one both on an overall level and among the largest investors (Tier 1). SEB achieved an overall score of 4.14, which according to Prospera is the highest score ever. The score regarding Tier 1 clients is even higher at 4.21.
Also, SEB is in first place on Research & Advisory (up from 3), second place on Execution (up from 3) and number one regarding Corporate Access (unchanged).
According to Nyquist, this is the result of a long-term focus on high-quality equity research, delivering excellent sales services, corporate access and ensuring efficient execution of trades.
“Our job is to support our clients to create return, and during the last four, five years we’ve had a focus on getting to know our clients and their needs, while also being able to offer firstclass advisory regarding in which stocks to invest or divest."
Nyquist says SEB has also been really successful when it comes to corporate access. One example is Nordic Seminar, an event the bank recently hosted in Copenhagen.
Domestic equities refer to stocks or shares traded within a specific country or region, while non-domestic equities refer to stocks or shares traded in a different country or region. Corporate access refers to the process of connecting corporate management teams with prospective investors, for example through events and meetings.
