Whether it’s the relationship with our customers or with our bank, we want a partnership, says Anna Westerlund, Vice President Group Treasury at Epiroc.

Epiroc is a Swedish company that manufactures drill rigs, mining trucks, and other equipment for rock excavation and landscaping. It also offers tools, services, and digital solutions for work both above and below ground.

“We are a global productivity partner for mining and construction customers and usually call ourselves a 150-year-old start-up company,” says Anna Westerlund.

Epiroc was previously part of Atlas Copco but became its own company on the stock exchange in 2018. It has approximately 19,000 employees globally and customers in approximately 150 countries. In 2023, Epiroc had sales of approximately 60 billion Swedish kronor (5.2 billion euros).

The relationship between Epiroc and SEB has a long history that stretches back to the Atlas Copco era.

“We have a strong and long-term relationship, which is important. SEB is a reliable partner who stands by us in good and tough times. In addition, SEB is a banking partner that fits our innovation agenda and which, like us, strives for continuous improvement,” says Anna Westerlund and continues:

“Our watchwords are innovation, commitment and collaboration, and I feel that these values are also important to SEB. As a bank, SEB actively tries to find new solutions that create value for us.”

Another important part for Epiroc is accelerating the transformation towards a sustainable society.

“Sustainability is integrated into everything we do. Here, too, SEB is an important partner on our sustainability journey. SEB has, among other things, helped us set up frameworks in green and sustainability-linked financing, and the bank also contributes with great expertise to the existing opportunities.”

Anna Westerlund says she looks forward to further developing the long-term partnership with SEB.

“Whether it’s the relationship with our customers or our bank, it’s a partnership we want. When it comes to our customers, we don’t just want to be an equipment supplier.  Therefore, we need to understand the customers’ needs so that together, we can develop and improve the industry.”
