Three SEB funds won prestigious awards

Caroline Forsberg and Tommi Saukkoriipi.

Three SEB funds recently received recognition at the LSEG Lipper Fund Awards – Europe for consistently strong risk-adjusted returns in the Nordic and Swedish equities categories. All three funds that received awards are fundamentally managed. The team behind the funds focuses on well-managed, high-quality companies and emphasises a long-term perspective.

Tommi Saukkoriipi, who manages both SEB Nordenfond and SEB Sverigefond, which received awards for best risk-adjusted return in ten and three years, respectively, says that there is a common philosophy for fundamental management that all managers in SEB's fund management work towards.

"An important source of the information we need for our analysis is the regularly conducted company visits. Companies that fit into the portfolios often have a strong market position and good senior executives who have the shareholders’ best interests at heart, and we evaluate companies’ sustainability work,” says Tommi Saukkoriipi.

"We have both been around for a long time, and over time, we have built up a good knowledge of both the companies we have invested in, their competitors and many of the companies we have currently excluded," says Caroline Forsberg, who manages SEB Sweden Equity. This fund won the award for best risk-adjusted return in five years.
