Henrik Lönnevi, CEO at Kivra, and Stefan Stignäs, head of Exploratory Banking and Strategic Partnerships at SEB

SEB has signed a Letter of Intent with Kivra, Sweden’s largest platform for important documents. The ambition is to create a shared digital ecosystem that will enable customers to control and manage their services and data in their channel of choice. Through this partnership, SEB aims to increase customer availability and customization, with focus on enhanced user convenience and sustainability.

“SEB's overall ambition is to build and provide products and services based on an open ecosystem approach. Our aim is to create increased customer value as well as enhanced customer experience. A long-term goal is to cater for the customer’s ability to manage and control their personal data. In addition, with the upcoming regulation around “Open Finance”, financial institutions will be required to develop standardized ways of sharing personal and non-personal information with third parties,” says Stefan Stignäs, Head of Exploratory Banking & Strategic Partnerships at SEB.

Kivra is a platform that connects 5.8 million Swedes with more than 40 000 verified companies and government agencies. Kivra enables a safe and sustainable way to distribute important documents such as invoices, letters and receipts, while making it easy for users to manage and collect these – all in one app.

“The partnership with SEB is something we are very proud of. SEB has a strong platform of their own and a big focus on innovation. That they now make services and important documents available in Kivra, for the benefit of customers, is very perceptive and forward-leaning. They are at the forefront of what a customer-focused partnership with us can look like,” says Henrik Lönnevi, the CEO of Kivra.

As part of SEB’s endeavor to continuously meet our customers’ evolving needs and adapt to new market conditions and sustainability requirements, it is SEB’s belief that strategic partnerships play an important role in rethinking ways of producing and distributing products and services for the best benefit of our customers. The partnership with Kivra will enable SEB to not only use Kivra’s platform as a channel for specific digital communication, but also for tailor made products and services.

“With this partnership, we take another important step on our digital transformation journey. We are convinced that the increased flexibility and availability the partnership with Kivra will bring will be of great benefit to our customers. The partnership is well in line with SEB's 2030 Strategy of strengthening innovation and business momentum through external partnerships and thereby future proofing SEB,” says Jonas Söderberg, Head of SEB’s division Corporate & Private Customers.

The Letter of Intent also entails an investment, making SEB a minority owner in Kivra.
