SEB defends position as best Nordic sustainability advisor

Large corporates and financial institutions in the Nordics rate SEB best sustainability advisor for the third consecutive year, a new survey shows. SEB was ranked number one in Sweden, Finland and overall in the region.

“This survey marks the end of a fantastic suite of customer satisfaction measurements for 2022. We have defended our position as the most relevant sustainability advisor, but the competition is intensifying,” says Jonas Ahlström, head of SEB’s Large Corporates and Financial Institutions division.

Kantar Sifo Prospera is responsible for the survey, and its new report is an aggregate of results in over 30 customer surveys among some 1,900 companies and institutions in the Nordics during 2022. It includes both the broad Corporate and Institutional Banking surveys, as well as separate surveys for each product area.

All surveys include a question where customers can assess how good the banks are at supporting them with sustainability advice. The results of this question have then been aggregated to a total point count.

SEB is ranked number one overall in the Nordics with 1,243 points (1,265 points the previous year). SEB lost some points among corporate customers but improved its position with financial institutions. Overall, this means that SEB defended its first place in the corporate segment and climbed to a shared first place among financial institutions.

“Our task is to help customers with their sustainable transition. We have ambitious goals and a clear strategy. Both institutional investors and companies have a positive view of our involvement and we have gained many new relationships based on the knowledge bank we have built,” says Hans Beyer, head of Sustainable Banking at SEB.

Looking at individual countries, SEB ranked number one in Sweden and Finland. In Denmark and Norway, SEB ranked in second place.
