The consulting company Universum arranges the annual competition ‘Student of the Year’, together with some of Sweden's leading companies.
For the second year in a row, SEB is looking for a student in the category ‘Tech Talent of the Year’. The winner gets an eight-week summer internship – located mainly in Sweden or the Baltics depending on residence – as well as a mentorship for one year.
SEB has more than 2,500 employees in Tech and is one of Sweden's largest IT employers, which Petra Ålund, head of Technology, wants to highlight with the competition.
“SEB's Tech organisation is a driving force in the development towards the bank of the future. We work actively with research and development to create value for customers with the help of new technology such as AI, machine learning and data analysis. We are constantly growing, and therefore we are constantly looking for rising stars who can give us new insights and help us find new business opportunities”, says Petra Ålund.
The application for this year's competition has now been completed, and in February, the ten semi-finalists will participate in a digital case week at SEB on the theme of machine learning and sustainability. Of the ten semi-finalists, three finalists will advance to the Universum Award Ceremony in March, when the winner will be announced.
The jury of the competition includes Thomas Schön, AI professor at Uppsala University, Joakim Jerbrant, chief architect at Google Cloud, Petra Ålund and other representatives from SEB.
