SEB one of the world's 100 most sustainable companies

SEB has been named one of the world's 100 most sustainable companies by the Canadian media and analysis company Corporate Knights. The study was presented at the World Economic Forum Economic Summit in Davos.

The Global 100 ranking, which has been presented every year since 2005, evaluates the world's most sustainable companies in different industries according to 21 different parameters. This year's survey was conducted at 7,395 companies globally, and SEB is the only Nordic bank on the list. Other Swedish companies are Ericsson and H&M.

"The fact that we are on the list is a recognition of our sustainability work and something we can be proud of," says SEB's Head of Sustainability Marie Baumgarts. “There is a strong focus on integrating sustainability into every part of the business, something we are pleased to note also among several of our customers", she says.

Compared to other industries, the financial sector is now also taking a clearer position in this development. In Corporate Knight's ranking, this year's largest industry grouping is precisely financial services companies; investors, insurance companies and banks.

“It is interesting”, says Marie Baumgarts, “and that SEB is on the Corporate Knights ranking shows that we are doing well in comparison with our competitors.”
