SEB Investment Management is a member of Climate Action 100+, whose members manage assets of more than $47 trillion. The group has sent a letter to the CEOs and chairs of 161 global companies — together responsible for up to 80% of global industrial greenhouse gas emissions — calling on them to commit to strategies that would see them reach net-zero emissions by 2050 at the latest. The group will assess those firms on their progress by measuring them against 30 indicators.
“We are happy to be a part of the Climate Action 100+ initiative and are encouraged by the initial progress of the investment initiative. It’s proof that we as an investment community can help influence companies towards a more sustainable development. Going forward, we need to increase our work with assessing the level of impact of investments, actively encourage a path to net-zero emissions through transparent expectations towards companies and continuous follow up on fulfillment of these, says Robert Vicsai, Investment Management.
