Therese Sundin travelled from Linköping to apply for a job at SEB in Stockholm. Her grandmother waited in the reception during the interview in the big city. This was six years ago - today Therese works as a product owner at SEB and is now courageous rather than afraid.
How come you applied for a work at SEB?
- I started out as a consultant but knew that it could lead to a permanent employment after one year - and so it did! After nine months I got an offer to stay, which was exactly what I wanted. Quite a lot of things have happened since then.
Tell us about your job
- I came right out of school and did not really think anyone would take me that seriously, but it was completely the opposite. The confidence SEB shows in me has made me grow and develop in so many different ways. In my profession through increased competence, but also as a person and how I look at myself. As a product owner, I lead two different teams working with asset management within the unit Portfolio Institutions. I have gained a lot of responsibility – which I really enjoy and I feel safe in my role. I didn't see this in myself before I came to SEB, but now I know I do!
Where do you see yourself in the future?
- For me, SEB equals - huge opportunities. Today I work with something that I did not even know existed a few years ago and I love it! It's hard to say what will happen in the future, but I know I want to stay at SEB. There are so many opportunities to move internally and to learn about new areas that interest me. I feel that there are no limits for what I can do at SEB.

- I have fantastic colleagues! It doesn’t matter if you have different backgrounds, experiences or work tasks since we share the same values and dedication to do a really good job. Business and IT are intertwined and we work closely together, have so much fun and at the same time we learn from each other.
