SWIFT gpi is a global payment service that allows faster speed, greater transparency and better tracking of cross-border payments than its predecessors do. Customers are not required to change their routines or make any IT adjustments in order to benefit from the improvements.
"SEB now supports over 40 currencies on this platform. The next step is to focus on customer integration and to explore the new opportunities brought by gpi", says Magnus Hedenberg, product manager for international payments in SEB's Large Corporates & Financial Institutions division.
To date, over 300 financial institutions around the world are committed to gpi, and more than 80 are live with the service. Over 100 billion dollars in SWIFT gpi payments are being sent daily across 700 international payment corridors – representing 35 per cent of all SWIFT payments.
