Marcus Wallenberg comments on Annika Falkengrens' board roles

Annika Falkengrens' role on Volkswagens' Supervisory Board has been questioned in Swedish media, referring to how the crisis for the car manufacturer can impact her ability to focus on the role of CEO of SEB. In response, SEB Chairman Marcus Wallenberg says:

"Annika Falkengren has been operating for over 30 years in the banking industry. From the board's side, we see it as something positive and natural that CEOs help and strengthen networks in markets that are important for SEB. At the same, time she contributes with her deep financial expertise.

Annika Falkengren has been SEB's CEO for ten years and has, among other things, successfully navigated the bank during the financial crisis. She has a long-term plan for the bank - a ten-year plan - which she has every ambition to deliver on.

I welcome a personal discussion with our institutional shareholders in this important issue."
