SEB wins Global Private Banking Award - again

The results were analysed by an expert panel of eight people from the financial sector in North America, Asia and Europe. There were two separate parts to the evaluation: a study of key performance indicators conducted by the Scorpio Partnership; and a comprehensive questionnaire completed by all participants.

“I am very proud to receive this award,” Martin Gärtner, head of Private Banking at SEB, says. “The Global Private Banking Awards is a prestigious prize to win. Not only because it is based on a thorough study of our business model but also because it is awarded by the Financial Times Group, which itself guarantees quality and has an influential position within the business world.”

SEB was chosen as Best Private Bank in the Nordic region due to its strong footprint across the region, where its brand and broad offering was considered to be better developed and stronger than its key rivals.

Furthermore, the jury placed value on the bank's ability and desire to step away from standardised asset allocation models, which have come under severe pressure and criticism since the onset of the financial crisis and work instead with tailored portfolios incorporating different assets and focusing on the needs of the customer.

The jury considered this differentiation to be a key success factor in the continued success of major regional wealth management institutions such as SEB. Also praised was how seriously SEB considers regulatory issues.
