Start your philanthropic journey with us

We can help you build a purposeful legacy.

Is there a particular area or issue you are particularly passionate about? For many, philanthropy is about adesire to influence society in a certain direction. Meet Anna Olinius and Esther Edlundh-Rose at SEB Philanthropy and Foundations who will guide you in your philanthropic engagement. SEB has for many years helped individuals and families who want to contribute to a better society in various ways.

There are different approaches you can take to get involved if you want to make a difference. You might already have an area or an issue you are passionate about, and then we can discuss what type of engagement suits you – whether you want to contribute your capital or your knowledge, for instance. Together, we will find the right way for you, says Anna.

But not everyone knows exactly how they want to contribute. We usually have a dialogue to determine which area you want to engage in. Often, people have been influenced by something – an event, a trip, or perhaps an illness. Then we look at what is possible to do. Do you want to make a difference here and now, or sow a seed for the future and perhaps contribute to research or advocacy work? Maybe the answer is to start a foundation or support an existing organisation or person, says Esther.

It's also important to figure out early how much of your own time you want to contribute, says Esther. Do you want to involve, for example, your family or someone else? Many people want to give their children the opportunity to get involved and thereby build up important knowledge that is passed on to the next generation.

We help you take your idea further

Every meeting is unique, says Anna, and what we contribute depends entirely on your circumstances and wishes.

At SEB, we have a large network of actors from, for example, business, research, educational institutions, and other organisations and social entrepreneurs who are active in the philanthropic arena. This gives us a unique helicopter perspective. We use this to set up relevant conversations between people and organisations that we believe can benefit from meeting each other.

The needs in society are increasing the demand for new forms of collaboration and philanthropic financing.

Many also say that they appreciate that the bank offers a neutral meeting place where they can meet andget to know others with common interests. We can also assist with an initial filtering to identify suitableorganisations or individuals who work in line with your thoughts and goals.

In addition to our classic banking services, we also have specialists attached to our philanthropy service inareas such as family law, foundation law, tax law, and succession planning. You can get help witheverything from writing gift letters and wills to starting and managing a foundation or planning a change ofownership in your company, says Esther.

The needs in society are increasing the demand for new forms of collaboration and philanthropic financing. And it's a journey we want to take together with our customers.
