Nordic Family Office Summit 2026
Bringing owners and leaders together
On 29 January, SEB hosted the fourth Nordic Family Office Summit at the Grand Hôtel’s Vinterträdgården in Stockholm. The event welcomed principals and senior leaders from family offices and family-owned investment companies across Northern Europe.
Over the afternoon and evening, participants gathered for in-depth discussions and peer exchange around some of the most central topics facing family owners today: governance, succession, investments and current global trends.
Family ownership is close to the heart of SEB. Since its founding in 1856, the bank has been guided by five generations of the Wallenberg family. This long-term journey has given both SEB and the owner family deep insights into succession, continuity and responsible stewardship across generations, experiences that continue to shape how the bank supports families, owners and entrepreneurs today.
The Summit has grown steadily and continues to attract an increasing number of clients.
“What continues to resonate is the opportunity to meet in a setting that encourages openness, trust and dialogue. When experienced owners and family office leaders share their perspectives and experiences, the conversations become both relevant and powerful, and provide clients with new business opportunities.” Says Anders Engstrand, Head of Private Wealth Management & Family Office.
Family owners and family offices face timeless questions around ownership, governance and next-generation engagement, while also navigating a rapidly changing geopolitical, economic and technological landscape. The programme was designed to reflect this breadth.
“This Summit is truly created ‘for and by our clients’. Their perspectives, experiences and priorities guide the themes and conversations, and several of our clients take part on stage, sharing their insights very generously with peers. This ensures the programme remains relevant and connected to the realities of family ownership.” Says Stina Norrhede, Head of Professional Family Office Sweden.
A broader programme
Ahead of the main Summit programme, two highly appreciated side events further deepened the experience. The Women’s Banquet brought together female owners and leaders for dialogue and connection, and a dedicated Next Generation Master Class was arranged in collaboration with the Stockholm School of Economics.
Together, the Summit and its surrounding programme reflected SEB’s ambition to support families across generations by creating forums where experience, insight and long-term perspectives can be shared.
Highlights from the programme
Succession and the Next Generation
Representing SEB’s owner family, Peter Wallenberg Jr. from the 5th generation was joined on stage by three members of the 6th generation to share perspectives on long-term family ownership. The conversation highlighted how a structured and transparent succession framework is guiding the transition to a significantly larger next generation. With both history and future in focus, the session illustrated how long-term owners navigate change while continuing to build for generations to come.
Resilience in the era of transformation
In a session on resilience and technological change, Noam Perski, EVP at Palantir, and Peter Sarlin, CEO and Co-founder of AMD Silo AI, shared perspectives on how AI is reshaping businesses and societies. From improving efficiency and decision-making to advancing drug discovery and driving growth, AI was highlighted as a powerful enabler when focused on outcomes, returns and speed of learning.
Engaged ownership and financial stability in turbulent times
Jenny Ashman Haquinius, CFO at Investor, shared insights on long-term ownership built on high-quality companies, strong leadership and engaged governance. With no predefined exit plans, Investor combines structure with innovation and maintains focus despite short-term market movements.
