Green Bonds
Green Bonds are an investment vehicle that integrates the fiduciary element of Fixed Income products with climate awareness, giving mainstream investors access to environmental-related investment opportunities.
SEB pioneered the sustainable finance market by developing the Green Bond concept in close collaboration with investors and the World Bank in 2007-2008, as a response to increased investor demand for engagement in climate-related opportunities.
Since then, the sustainable finance market and SEB's product offering have grown to include a wide range of sustainability-themed products, such as Social and Sustainability Bonds, and performance-based products, such as Sustainability-Linked Bonds.
This product offering reflects one of SEB's main ambitions: to support our customers in the transition to a low-carbon economy and to contribute to a more prosperous future for people and businesses through advisory leadership.
SEB is proud of its close collaboration with investors, corporations, academics, the public sector, and NGOs in identifying the societal challenges and the required solutions. Without this collaboration it would be impossible, as a financial player, to understand, structure, and identify ways where finance can support stronger and better societies.
