Our Mainframe Transaction team is responsible for the critical IMS and MQ infrastructure that powers some of the bank's most important transaction and integration services.
We are looking for a Senior IMS/MQ System Programmer to help drive the evolution, stability, and modernization of our transaction and messaging platforms on IBM z/OS.
About the role
As a member of the team, you will combine technical expertise with ownership of strategic platform initiatives. You will play a key role in ensuring that SEB's IMS and MQ environments remain secure, resilient, scalable, and available around the clock. Your responsibilities will include:

Installation, configuration, maintenance, and lifecycle management of IMS TM, IMS DB, and IBM MQ on z/OS.

Driving platform modernization initiatives and adoption of new technologies and capabilities.

Ensuring platform stability, availability, performance, and resilience in a highly business-critical environment.

Supporting developers, architects, and application teams with technical expertise and guidance.

Troubleshooting efforts for complex incidents and performance challenges.

Managing upgrades, migrations, security improvements, and vulnerability remediation activities.

Working with automation, monitoring, observability, and operational excellence initiatives.

Contributing to disaster recovery, high availability, and continuous service improvement.

Collaborating closely with security, infrastructure, application, and architecture teams across SEB.

Acting as mentor and knowledge-sharing expert within the team and the broader Mainframe community.
To succeed in this role, we believe you have

Experience as a z/OS System Programmer within IMS and/or MQ environments.
-
Understanding of IMS TM, IMS DB, IBM MQ for z/OS, and transaction-processing environments.

Preferably experience working with high-availability solutions, Parallel Sysplex, disaster recovery, and critical production environments.

Understanding of mainframe security, compliance, and operational controls.

Preferably experience with performance analysis, tuning, automation, monitoring, and incident management.

Analytical and problem-solving skills.

Ability to take ownership, drive initiatives, and influence technical direction.

Excellent communication skills and the ability to collaborate across organizational boundaries.

Fluency in English. Swedish is considered a merit.
