About the role: 

Join the team behind SEB's core payment platform, processing millions of transactions and enabling secure, reliable payments for customers across the Nordics. As a Database Developer, you will help shape and operate business-critical systems where performance, reliability and scalability are essential. 

Our systems handle high transaction volumes with stringent requirements for availability and resilience. Working in this environment means solving complex database challenges, optimizing critical workloads and ensuring our platforms consistently deliver exceptional performance. 

As a Database Developer, you will take ownership of database solutions supporting our payment platform. You will work to ensure that our database environments and supporting infrastructure remain robust, scalable and highly available, while providing expert support to development teams and contributing to the continuous evolution of the platform. 

You will join a skilled and collaborative team of engineers, infrastructure specialists and database developers located in Örebro, Stockholm and Vilnius. Together, we own and evolve a critical part of SEB's payment ecosystem while working closely with development teams across the organization.

To thrive in this role, we believe you have: 

  • Extensive skills in MS SQL Server 

  • Experience in SQL optimization and performance management 

  • Analytical skills and knowledge to handle complex systems 

  • Good communication skills and fluency in English 

  • Self-driven and organized work ethic with a curios and open mindset 

  • Meriting to have experience with Database projects, Partitioning and AlwaysOn. 

  • Experience using LLMs as part of your development workflow, either professionally or through personal projects.
